The votes tabulated for each candidate represents the sum total of votes cast under multiple variants of their names, as follows:
J. Andrew Schulze: 41 counties and the City of Philadelphia for a total of 81,751 votes.
John Andrew Schulze: Beaver, Crawford, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Pike, Schuylkill (753 votes), Venango, and Warren counties, and Philadelphia city and/or county (5 votes) for a total of 7,311 votes.
John A. Schulze: Erie County for a total of 754 votes.
Andrew Schulze: Schuylkill County for a total of 112 votes.
Total Schulze vote: 89,928.
Andrew Gregg received 64,157 votes under that name. In addition he received 53 votes in Schuylkill County as Andrew Gragg, and one vote in Wayne County as Andrew Greg.
Total Gregg vote: 64,211.
The vote for Indiana and Jefferson counties were combined in the official report. The separate county returns were reported in the Oracle of Dauphin and are used here.
The vote for Philadelphia City and County were combined in the official report. The separate returns were reported in the Oracle of Dauphin and are used here. The total City and County vote for Shulze was officially reported as 6,657. The totals reported by the Oracle was 6,649. The missing eight votes cannot be assigned from available records.
