Bio 392 Senior projects

Overall Objective

To conclude the capstone experience for Senior Biology majors. Upon completing the course students will have used their training in the content and process of biology to learn something new about biology and communicate this new information orally, in poster format and in writing.

Specific Objectives

Upon completing this course students will have:

1. Worked as part of a team under the direction of a faculty mentor to identify and address a specific problem.
2. Found and mastered biological literature relevant to the problem.
3. Identified what is not known, and developed a plan to fill in the missing information.
4. Identified and mastered the methods needed to acquire the necessary information
5. Identified and mastered the methods needed to analyzed the data which they acquire.
6. Learned how to write a research proposal.
7. Learned how to present your results orally.
8. Learned how to present your results on a poster.
9. Learned how to present your results in a manuscript.
